Feeling lonely Les lol ??? You do look a bit like ET mate :D

Eco will only fade way if people migrate to another class and perhaps forgetting the charm of ECO class is everyone have the same 2 motors to choose from, same cheapo speedos, and with its quirky shells and realistic looking wheels and tyres meant something quite different from the norm, and same for the racing part too cos quite often we have a laugh and don't mind crashing into each other (that much).... and if we can get the tyres to work better from the first run to the point they are showing inserts I am sure it will be even more enjoyable (hence I agreed with Rob about allowing additives). Failing that I already said if there is a blinky 17.5t class but any rubber I would run worn out ECO rubber with a Mazda6 shell to see what it's like too!

Had ECO have not existed then yeah I would probably be racing blinky anything but I would be very reluctant to spend 90 quid on a 17.5T flavour of the month motor.... and perhaps forget my unfounded concern on having to run $$$orex rubber, since we don't even run BRCA rubber tyre rule in 13.5T perhaps I shouldn't be too concerned about the proposed-and-passed BRCA Blinky 17.5T class will be any different... silly 'ol me lol... but then I might be excluded for running a fixed timing non BRCA HW stock motor

Not lonely Remo got plenty of mates on a small moon on the far side of Talos 5,They hapily race Eco too but have found a more consistant tyre lol.
90 quid for flavor of the month 17.5?? bugger! wot planet are you from (funny accent too lol) Take a look at the Thunder Tiger range,65 quid retail(GB price) buys a super little motor, thats only a few quid more than the Eco HW and its timing adjustable.
The rules are now set but I still think the speedo rule should have been left open,it gives people more scope with their gear.We could of had a "fun option day" of running Eco boosted for a change??(on Eco rubber? lol).... Blinky is Blinky no mater what the speedo,Ive proved to myself that the cheapest can compeet with the "Tekins" in this class, its the different motors and the drivers ability to find their various timing/FDR sweet spots that make the difference,But our Ecos listed two level the playing field here some what. :)

As you can tell :) its only the tyre that bugs me in this class :( its a lottery if I buy a good set on not ,especialy if some one has already "nicked" the best ones :? ... plus they take a lot of "fiddling with" and know how to get them on the pace.Ive brought more than one set that either had one poorly formed tyre or one hard one (this dont work out cheap) At the mo im not prepared to spend time and effort farting around with Eco rubber to "keep up" in whats suposed to be a simple class :? ...Has any one fully tested the slick version of the Eco tyre? to me it looks more suitable but maybe a little too soft???.....I have a new set that ill bring Sunday, anyones welcom to test them to distruction....Even if they only lasted 2 meets it would be better than the one meet "softened" Eco treads I used last time I ran them (hot track)
Im not a complete idiot...some parts are missing.

ECO slicks, yes they give huge grip but wont last a meeting as they are too soft!

I do agree that the ECO rubber can be a bit inconsistent batch per batch... but still,If I decide to race in the "new" 17.5T blinky class, I will be running some worn ECOs with additives, I know they work cos I tried it at Demon GP pre-race and beat you for a couple of rounds lol :)

Not entering the speedo debate again cos it was voted in unanimously and everyone racing ECO has got one in their car now and all happy cos no speedo envy.... 8)

this may be somewat mute, but the eco tyre and blinky speedo's is wat interested me to come back... shame i havent been back more.

if cost is an outlying factor, then why not a set of the SSB's. use the treaded eco's for wet and cold weather and the ssb's for hot weather.

does also sound like your trying to turn eco into something its not mean't to be... just my opinion

Theres nothing wrong with "Eco" as it stands,Ive had some good laughs racing it and will have many more in the future, its a super class!I just wish the rubber was a little more consistant thats all :( ,Grip is everthing in this class and if you aint got a desent set of rubber and you want to be fast forget it!...The thought of the durable SSB's is a good idea though.
I cant see cost been a factor, regardless of rubber as we all know the more expensive chassis (in the right hands on good rubber) will always have the edge.Plus if you can afford to buy a few sets and sort and "treat" the best rubber you will be fast!! this sort of takes the "mickey " out of the word Eco.....Turning Eco into something its not ment to be?...TBH the speedo rule "at the time" is basicaly a very good Idea regarding cost, but with "hine sight" the same speed/cost can be had with a speedo that can do both,as now its been proven that in Blinky Cheap can compeet with expensive.

In the past ive seen good classes fade for no apparent reason, lack of interest?? who knows?? so any chat/debate regarding a 13.5 blinky/17.5 boosted class is purely just something to keep on the back burner should this ever happen to our Eco,an idea...a bit of forward thinking,no more than that!... just to keep a healthy interest for the club and our brains ticking along :D

Les, come round with your worse set of ECO tyres and I will make them into 18 lappers in the right hands lol... I will prove you are WRONG when bitching about ECO rubber since we relaxed on the additive rule, no more voodoo on them to make them work.... trust me!

As for shame those with Cirtix cant race boosted, have you not thought those who bought them DONT want to race Boosted? I can count a few for ya!
Last weekend I had 2 stonking race and quali with Baxter... this time I came out tiny and I mean tiny bit faster, and in the first final Dave Johnson would have beaten us both had he not got too eager on the power!!! I sure as hell aint leaving this class... it is cheap, hassle free and makes you good a driving and setting up your car imho.

Finally the cost thing... give it up already.... last weekend in the finals I was using my first and second ever set of ECO tyres... I bought first set in NOVEMBER... and second in January and they had additives on them when we raced Demon GP pre-race... and they are still performing last weekend with no further treatment and I only use lighter fuel to clean them after each race.... :D

I have no intentions of giving up Eco,I Just like to keep my "thumbs in" during the summer grip in a faster class thats all...Ive had some bad experiances with Eco rubber in the past thats put me off a litle.

Cirtix owners cant race boosted and dont want to race boosted?....Hmmmm they have no other choice ....full stop
