Brushed Motors

Postby Porsche959Boy » 26 Apr 2014, 21:35

Hi all, just wondering if anyone is running with brushed motors?... and if so, what would be the alternative for 17.5T?... I was looking at a 27T brushed to run with as I'm old school!

Cheers!

Back in the day of Eco rule( think u will have to get this checked its right ) they used hpi 15 t firebolts but they burn out quick and are still slow next to the newer 17.5t brushless

You need brushless brushed only works with / against other brushed motors waste of money

Not sure I totally agree with that when comparing against 17.5 blinkey. We ran 27T against 13.5 in the SLCC when brushless first came out and made two A finals. I will admit we got smashed at Cotswolds but on the tighter tracks we were fine. I have seen 27t raced against 17.5 blinkey competitively several times over the past couple of years. I will admit that the Aldershot track probably gives the advantage to 17.5B though.

I was considering running my HPI Sprint 2 with 27T as it's what I'm used to running... brushless and LiPo's are all new to me.

Yes I'll be bringing the TC6 tomorrow.... just that I've been running the HPi for longer and in car parks!... so now the 'upgrade' to brushless running etc.
