Cos it's the only component I've changed. Put the Hobbywing back in and it's as sweet as

Firmware done
Speedo now using v20 stock all seems good and lap top still works and speedo has not melted.
All seem good on the bench with my team wave motor Kev only will be able to tell next meetingAlso i can confirm that a Nosram comet works fine with a thunder power 17.5 motor, with the Team wave if run at about quarter throttle motor would speed up then slow down then go mad and then stop but works fine in Jasons car.

Hmmm me thinks i will stick with the lrp sphere it might be 5 years old but there's one thing it does do and that's not let you plug anything into it.

Ah happy days.

Whens the next clubby, i feel the need the need for blinky !.

Yes, mine also okay if I run up on bench with no load. Have you tried putting it on the floor and trying to gently edge it forward? Going to try marrying up to an X12 motor to see if it makes any difference.

Richard, what motor(s) do you run?

Kev, maybe try the following:
No sensor lead.
Another motor.
Remember you told me you had the same problem with the LRP FLOW no?
Good luck...

I tried a different sensor lead, no difference, tried adjusting motor timing, no difference, going to try a different motor (X12) will report back after test.

The LRP Flow had a totally different problem and one which others had experienced (including Scott) it was pulsing at high speed/full throttle.

TBH I had been warned (after purchasing the friggin speedo) that I might experience this low speed cogging, so it's not like it's a new problem that only I am suffering from, other peeps already knew about it. I'm beginning to get a bit irritated with spending a lot of money for something that almost, but doesn't quite work as expected.

Cheers Kev.

Scott.
Timing makes no difference for me. Tried the X12 this morning and same as GM. Put GM back in, tried lots of different settings and the one that seems to make most difference is the neutral range which I've reduced to minimum (2%). This has reduced the low speed stutter to ALMOST nothing. Ran the car up and down the road and at speeds above walking pace there isn't a problem.
I can't race next weekend so I'll take my car and a battery to the track tomorrow and hopefully when the BRCA meeting has finished I'll get the opportunity to do half a dozen laps just to check all is good.

Settings:
LCD Program Card firmware = 2.6
Software = V20 Stock0
1. Running Mode = Forward/Brake
2. Volt protect = Disabled
3. DRRS3.0 = Level 5
4. Brake force = 60%
5. Drag brake = 0%
6. Neutral range = 2%
7. Heat protect = Disabled (figure it's not likely to overheat in blinky)

Going to try a glitch capacitor in the receiver but don't imagine it will make any difference.

I hope this helps

Why cant esc's be simple and work on ay motor regardless of wind. Now very peaved to much faffing around.Kev i also reduced neutral point and this made it better

One final experiment...

Nick and a few others say the first generation 2.4 GHz Spektrum kit I run with my Futaba 3CVS is a possible cause of glitching. I put the original 40MHz module back in, it made absolutely no difference so it's definitely not the radio.

What fun

I really think it's the speedo. My Hobbywing works perfectly but doesn't have much in the way of brakes. I do a straight swap, replacing the HW with the Reventon and I get the stutter. The sensor board on the motor has never been changed, the same occurs with both the GM 17.5 and a LRP X12 17.5 (Scott seems to have the same issue with a Team Wave motor). Adjusting the endbell timing on the motors makes no difference, I've tried a different sensor lead, a 40MHz radio and tried just about every possible permutation of settings on the speedo. The only one that appears to make any difference is reducing the neutral range to minimum.

As I said, it only seems to happen at low speeds, although on occasions it does seem to hesitate for a split second on a full throttle racing start. I'll find out if it's okay for racing at the club meeting on the 8th.

The good news... the brakes are awesome :-)
