Yup spent time this evening starting to convert our T2 009 17.5 blinkey car to a wet 13.5 boosted car, having just refitted the 012 with new bearings all round. Still gets me out of painting tomorrow 8)

Does not have to. With 3 finals you get an extra race and you drop your worst result leaving two results to plug into the current champoionship system.

Yea because on the same day with only 2 finals that count u can still end up with three ppl with 1st place points that only works if u count the best two for one round

Sure I realise you could get 3 people with the same score across the two champoinship rounds per meeting but with 34 rounds per championship I am not convinced it would make any material difference - not worth methinks the penalty of losing the opportuniy to get 50% more racing per meeting

If u take 17.5 the points difference is 158 already from 1st to 5th if the top 1 or 2 had chance of getting more 100 points to scrub the worse off it be even bigger , ok it could work out better for 5 th but if he is a heat down 3 100 points can be had were he can only get 2 90 points letting more ppl get a advantage over him in just one day

Not sure I see it that way. As a general statement, someone in a lower heat will have less ability than someone in the top heat, especially towards the top of the top heat. The person in the lower heat is more likely to screw up a race than someone at the top of the top heat and therefore the ability to drop a final will be more of an advantage to them than someone in the top heat.

But I have no issue either way over this aspect; I was supporting the suggestion that in a race meeting 3 finals would be more fun than 2 finals

AGM is in about three months time, I know that a couple of years ago there were a few racers who wanted fewer qualifiers and more racing. If you feel strongly about it, put 3 finals forward as a proposal and let the membership decide.

Forewarned...

But their will be 2 committee positions up for proposal which is much more important. And its not mine either, unless you feel otherwise it will be 3 ;-)

Yes I'd second it if it is thought through properly and providing the race software can accommodate three finals each meeting and count them as separate rounds.

Ori, what positions are becoming vacant?

Guys, i can tell you that one is for the Chairman. Once this has been done then it may aleviate alot of pressure from other areas, and we shall see.

The other position will be mentioned closer the time. But is just as important!

Enthusiasm is really the key to any of the positions.

The club has so much potential for the right people to push it forward, it is amazing from what i hear sometimes.

Everyone knows our club, it is mentioned alot on so many forums. Especially the main Xray forum too. Many clubs struggle to persuade event organizers that their club should hosts events. But Aldershot is almost a given!

You may have also heard recently that Newbury indoor club are closed at present due to unforseen circumstances. It is a great indoor track and hopefully will reopen soon. But in the meantime we may have some extra racers which would be nice.

Hope this gives you some insight.

Thank You.
