Discovered the cause of the electrical glitch on Craig's steering which caused 2 of our 3 DNFs at the BTCC. It turned out be, almost certainly, a failing digital module on the Ko transmitter. I had a spare and swapping it in fixed it. Just need to go to the track today to make absolutely sure it is fixed for the Nats on Saturday. 8)

Much as though we enjoyed Sunday the BTCC event is the most expensive to enter, on the basis of £s per race (BRCA is 5+3 for £20), and the icing on the cake was the ridiculous (and proven to be so) decision to reduce it to one final. I supsect that will be our last attendance.

BTCC make the prices not the club and the reduction to one final was, again the decision of the BTCC, I was anticipating 3 for 2 myself

id like to see less qualifying and more finals, certainly at the club meets maybe drop 1 quali in favour of another final 2 to count so 4+3
and at the bigger races its not like the timetable will suffer, any of the larger races should be 3+3 imho

na 2 finals is great for club days u can do more setup with qualifying plus why would u want 4 finals as each final counts as a round?

i was happy with the btcc how they let the drivers decide and its in the best interest as with the threat of rain u get no one running in the heats

Personally I thought the BTCC was great. It was really good to see so many racers at the track, reminds me of when Ryan and I started club racing about ten years ago.

I too would have preferred two finals and that's the way I voted on the day, but I was in the minority so I'm cool with letting the majority prevail.

As for cost, I'm hoping that most of the entry fee went to our club, if so it meant over a hundred racers made a huge contribution to our club which will help us to survive and keep our membership fees down.

Qualifying... I enjoyed round by round and would be happy to adopt this during the winter if the majority wanted it. The proviso being that the race director would declare a round wet or dry before the first heat, if declared dry everyone would have to run slicks for that round.

Cheers, Kev.

For meetings such as the BTCC round by round is only used when the weather is unpredictable to rule out the Lottery factor of dry/wet conditions.Personaly im not in favour of this as it forces you to run the full length of each qually round to gain points rather than pulling off to save rubber if you are not improving your time as per FTD,I ended up 4th on the grid,if it had been FTD it would of been 2nd ....As for the one final! I felt that WAS a bad choice!!one mistake or shunt and your day is ruined,at least with two finals you get a second chance?

Just my thoughts...Les
Im not a complete idiot...some parts are missing.

I'm not precious about round by round, first time I'd ever run like this so probably enjoyed it from a novelty point of view.

It seems to reward consistency over pure speed but the top guys still end up at the front. After round 3 I seem to recall I was ahead of Dom :D one more round of qualifying and he was on pole! :(

Presumably for every person that loses a place or two on RBR there is another racer who gains.

Incidentally, I think if we'd have used FTD I would have ended up at the back of the A final instead of 4th in the B. What messed all of us up in heat 1 (including Remo) was round 3... just as we got on the rostrum it rained and we were all on slicks with tyre additive. The other two blinky heats had time to switch to wets (and the rain stopped) which gave them a huge advantage.
