Demon Grand Prix 2013 Booking-In now Open!

Postby kartdemon » 01 Feb 2013, 11:52

All details and booking-In is now available here

Online booking-In now closed. Entries are now taken on Race Day on the 31st. You may still practice on the 30th if you have not booked in but intend to.

Q&A can be directed here.

** UPDATE ** I can also now book racers in as "unconfirmed entry" to show your possible attendance (IE if you are unsure of the weather). This would be better for the event numbers. You can then pay on the day.

** UPDATE ** Modified booking available online. And entry on the day.

PM me so I can add you as unconfirmed. Ben (Race Director) will then ask you to pay, when you confirm your entry on the Sunday at race control.

Thank You.

The DGP is now on the front page of the BRCA website!

Generally only official brca events are placed their as upcoming events, but due to the recognition of the event we now have it listed.

Woohoo.

Some odd racers have some of the original slim pit shimizu rain tyres. These can give an unfair advantage. You cannot really buy these anymore through normal channels. This was was the main reason we chose just the BRCA intermediate rain tyre. It is the next best and easily purchasable.

Hopefully it will be a dry day though.

Thanks.

That's cool however I am on third set of the Schumacher Inters with first two set with one or two broken belt, and the last set suffered with a totally cracked rim on their first run in the cold so I have boiled them off and glued them back on Tamiya rims so I dont have to buy a 4th set.... :s

As long as they are the inter it is fine. How can you bust those belts in blindly? In 13.5 mine usually just detach from the rims and need gluing a little.

Just to add.
Last season the inters had an insert change from grey to yellow..the previous seasons inters were banned at BRCA meets due to a perfomance difference....The choice and type of inserts "if changed" in theses tyres WILL improve perfomance....any way it aint going to rain.......Hmmm,but it might be damp though
Im not a complete idiot...some parts are missing.

I have no idea but I can bring 3 tyres with the same issue to show ya...

Anyway, as most would agree I'm sure, fingers crossed weather would be better than last GP!

Not being argumentative or anything, Schumacher made the insert change because the inters performed better with yellow inserts than with grey inserts, which is fine... but banning the "poorer" performing inters with grey inserts made no real sense to me other than being a brilliant money making idea as everyone will then be forced to buy a new set of inters to replace their previous set regardless of what condition they were in... smart.

It would be nice to have a level playing field for all of us thats all...if all four rims are allowed to be changed due to a crack or some fault with the tyre it could open the flood gates for anyone to mess with different inserts or rim off set's,,,,In the past Ive cracked a rim but ive only replaced the one rim(like for like) ...but hey ho as long as we can all race knowing the guy along side us has "roughly" the same tyre? and not some hybrid combo to suit the greasy conditions

Personaly for club meets I dont care what people do ,but for a meet such as the GP lets stick to the rules? No grey area's please :)

Actually it is not difficult. The comeptition rule, in tems of dry tyres, clealry states BRCA rules and those rules clearly state which tyre is allowable.

So I will be following that rule and like Les I would expect my competitors not to be gaining an unsought, or sought, advantage by using a more appropriate tyre for the temperatures on that day

Sorry but for dry conditions the rules says "All classes in dry conditions will be able to use any slick tyre."
